Flamboyant South Africa-based prophet Shepherd Bushiri overplayed his importance on Wednesday afternoon when he paid unexpected visit to Moyale Barracks without booking an appointment with officials.
Senior Army officers sent the prophet back and asked him to follow the right procedures if he has an intention to enter the barracks with his entourage. It is said that Bushiri went to Moyale Barracks saying he wanted to inspect Moyale Community Day Secondary School to asses how he can help.
The officers manning the gates were ordered by the seniors not to open the gates for the self-elevating prophet who has been disturbing traffic in Mzuzu City this week by engaging in unwarranted parades. Mzuzu City Council officials have denied giving permission to Bushiri to march through the city streets as he wishes.
The prophet has since been advised to book an appointment and follow all necessary procedures before he can be given access into the barracks. This is not the first time Bushiri has failed to abide to the rules. Last year he also came under fire for hiring desperate police officers without approaching authorities. When government reprimanded and advised him on proper way of doing things Bushiri started preaching to the world that Malawi government hates him and his ministry.
