MPICO Limited has spoken out on the rain water leakage at its magnificent Gateway Shopping Mall in Lilongwe’s Area 47, assuring the general public that the problem has been rectified and investigations on the cause of the problem are underway.
There was a leakage of rain water at the country’s biggest shopping mall yesterday, October 29, 2016 following the heavy rains experienced in most parts of central and southern regions.
The development caused some inconvenience to people who were doing their shopping at the multi-million dollar shopping complex, designed in such a way that customers can move in between shops, banks and other business premises at the mall without being soaked during rains.
A team of experts was immediately dispatched to the complex by the property investment company to assess the cause of the problem and contain the situation.
In a statement issued by MPICO’s management today, October 30, 2016, the company has assured the public that the problem has been contained and the mall is operating as normal.
“MPICO sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused by the rainfall leakage and wishes to assure the public that it will do its best to address the cause of the problem,” says the statement.
